AURA (2017) is an audiovisual installation that materialises emotions into a perceptible, physical form. The audience' own emotional experience manifests as organic, pulsing light compositions of various form, colour and intensity. The installation visually tributes to the Solid Light Works by artist Anthony McCall, further exploring light as a medium.
Different variations of possible auras
<---idk what this is but looks cool :)
The overload model of personal space builds upon this possibility by suggesting that we maintain personal space in order to reduce the potential ‘overload’ on our information processing systems (G. E. Evans, 1974). By keeping others at a distance, we are able to maintain control over the stimulation that we would otherwise be forced to process. “
“…. Interpersonal spacing can reflect the nature of the relationship between individuals, and is also related to other nonverbal behaviors such as eye contact and body orientation.

Thus, maintenance of personal space zones can be conceptualized largely a matter of controlling the type of message individuals want to communicate to others with whom they are interacting.”
“An alternative – though not mutually exclusive – approach to explaining the functions of personal space suggest that personal space zones serve to protect us from stress.

G.W. Evans (1979) suggest an important one is potential aggression that may come from others. If we allow other people to get too close to us, an act of aggression can have serious consequences.
Why do we need personal space?
Idk how to make this smaller. I guess this picture is taking up a lot of space then
Some speculative news messages:
also, way to connect to the manifesto???

With the overwhelming win of the left-oriented parties last elections, experts predict a shift in the political climate, resulting in major reforms. The anticipated coalition is expected to include the XFP (XenoFeministParty) and the SP (Socialist Party). These forecasts seemed to find solid ground after Laboria Cuboniks, XFP’s party leader, urged her constituents to vote in favour of an experimental Augmented Reality system in a tweet last Sunday. The message also contained some first prototypes of the proposed plans, suggesting, amongst others, plans to integrate smart-technologies under skin.
The message was met with a lot of criticism from the political right, as several party officials have deemed the plans ‘cruel’ and ‘unethical’. Nevertheless, the plans seem to appeal to a majority of the general public, as was noted by different polls among several social platforms.
LATEST PLANS FOR VIRTUAL REALITY IMPLANTS

The system will be a 3 month-experiment, as a way of radical education of the general public in the learned systematic methods of oppression. “We don’t believe the forces of inequality present in our society today are a natural phenomenon. They are forced upon us by a corrupt value system.”
This experiment will be an effort to reverse the ideological forces driving this system by laying out it’s cogs and gears. And will be, in essence, an alternative and temporary value system, not driven by capital gain, but by available space. This will be an uncanny experience for many, if not all of us in one way or another, as we are all brought up to take this world as it’s been given to us. Yet, with perseverance, we believe we will be able to change the course of history, and make this world an inclusive place for all.
"No more futureless repetition on the treadmill of capital, no more submission to the drudgery of labour, productive and reproductive alike, no more reification of the given masked as critique. Our future requires depetrification. XF is not a bid for revolution, but a wager on the long game of history, demanding imagination, dexterity and persistence."

THE NETHERLANDS FIRST COUNTRY TO IMPLEMENT AUGMENTED REALITY FOR SOCIAL BENEFIT

Thursday, October 2032

After months of boisterous speculation and discussion, the legislative proposal for the Augmented Social Credit System has finally passed through the Dutch senate with tho-thirds of the majority vote. In a reaction, Prime Minister Cuboniks announced she expects the system to be up-and-running by the end of November, 2034. “We are very excited to see that these long-awaited plans are finally starting to become a reality. For too long, we’ve lived in a world of atrocious inequality. With this new technology, we might finally be able to bring the necessary awareness to do away with all that and arrive at a place of true universality and equality.”
